Flower Power

This is me after the steroids. Lupus is a degenerative autoimmune disease and miserably enough the only treatment that is working for me right now is steroids, and lots of 'em. Without steroids my hair would fall out and I would be covered in a blistery rash, which is where the disease gets its name. Lupus, latin for wolf, is called that because many of us get a bloody rash that makes us look like we've been bitten to pieces by wolves.
I was a size 4 when I started, and no matter if I eat 300 calories a day, it's hard to escape the steroids moon face and swollen body. will agree with me that it's no fun living with the disease, and that's why we're throwing the contest for National Lupus Awareness Month.
